This
8-hour class will be a fast-paced review of the changes that came into effect
July 1 of 2020 and the recently published changes that will go into effect May
24, 2023. This course will highlight the impact to the pipeline operator
and will focus on records and MAOP reconfirmation, repair criteria, management
of change, corrosion control, and other related amendments.

through of several accidents and the root cause factors that PHMSA has
focused upon.
- What is the common
thread that the federal government is trying to address?
Code changes – changes
made on July 1 , 2020.
- Primary focus will be
on MAOP re-confirmation and materials verification.
In order to accomplish
MAOP re-confirmation and material verification, what does an operator need
to know?
- Areas of tricky
interpretation and where are operators heading
- Elements of a material
verification program that will help make it work well – how the
technologies work, vendors in the market place, and process requirements
of a reliable program.
- MAOP reconfirmation
options and what it will take to make each option work – Code approves 6
methods. Overview discussion of the optional methods and what
planning and data would be required to make each method work.
Special concerns from a project execution point of view for each option.
- Review portions of actual
project examples and discuss comments and concerns based on actual
experiences.
